I didn't start running to race.
During lockdown, it was daily walks with my kids. Five-kilometre radius (ahh sounds so long ago now!). Same streets over and over. Some days it was the only reason to get out of the house.
Then one day, I picked up the pace. Just to see what would happen.
This week, I finished City2Surf for the third year in a row. Fourteen kilometres of proof that anyone can start over.
This is why I started. Not to race. Not to hit a time. Just to clear my mind and find some balance in the middle of everything else.
If you've been waiting for the perfect time - this is your sign.
